The main topics of discussion have included counteraction to terrorism and violent extremism in the Commonwealth states, its prevention under rising common threats posed by international terrorist organizations.
It was the purpose of the meeting to collectively explore practical issues related to counteracting terrorism and violent extremism as well as the problems of their prevention in the Commonwealth member-states.
21 November 2013, Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The Third regional expert consultations were held on the base of the CIS ATC representative office in the Central Asian region on "Algorithms of cooperation of the relevant bodies of the CIS member-states in case of crisis situations amid withdrawal of the International Security Assistance Forces from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2014".
The CIS ATC's event gathered representatives of experts of the the counter-terrorism and counter-extremism practice units from National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, State Committee of National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, State Committee of National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, National Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as CIS bodies ¬ including Coordination Service of the Council of the Commanders of the Border Forces and Office for the Coordination of the Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime on the Territory of CIS member-states.
The CIS Anti-Terrorism Center (CIS ATC) with the support from the State Committee of National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic held Expert consultations of the representatives of the counter-terrorism and counter-extremism practice units of the security bodies and special services of the CIS member-states of the Central-Asian Region on 9 December 2011 in Bishkek.
