The international experts express deep concern over increased number of citizens leaving their countries with a purpose to prepare or participate in terrorist acts as well as to undergo terrorist training. The rising number of foreign terrorist-fighter departing to Syria and Iraq to fight along the Islamic State terrorist organization is of alarming trend.
The active implantation of violent religious-extremist ideas in the society which dissemination is supported by mass media, including the Internet and social media facilitates the FTF recruitment. The reality is that the young people are most vulnerable for radical religious narratives and their representatives overreact to the problems of the modern society.
On 24-25 September 2015 the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center will hold an international research and practice conference "Prevention of Youth Involvement into Terrorist and Extremist Organizations" at the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov.
The Conference will be attended by the Cabinet of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation to the Central Federal District, Administration of the Belgorod region, plenipotentiary representatives of the security agencies of the CIS member-states in the Russian Federation (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Moldova), deputies of the State Duma and members of the Council of the Federal assembly of the Russian Federation, Civic Chamber at the President of Russia, rectors (pro-rectors for discipline and education) of the universities of the Central Federal District, officers of the Ministry of Interior, FSB, NAC of Russia, representatives of the student (youth) organizations, traditional confessions.
As a follow-up to the event there will be a document containing specific practical solutions and recommendations aimed at early prevention and suppression of the youth (first of all students) involvement into activity of international terrorist and extremist organizations.
