A press-conference dedicated to the measures of prevention of terrorism and extremism among young people was held in the TASS press-center on 30 October 2018.
The event was attended by the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center representatives including Head of Analytical Department Vladimir Grigoryev, Chair of the Scientific and Advisory Council at the CIS ATC Marianna Kochubey and Executive Secretary of the Council Alexandr Smirnov as well as Chair of the RF Civic Chamber Board for development of public diplomacy, humanitarian cooperation and preservation of traditional virtues, First Deputy Chair of the Russian Peace Foundation managing board Elena Sutormina and President of the International Institute for Development of Scientific Cooperation, Professor of the MGIMO comparative politics department Elena Ponomareva.
Within the framework of the event the experts have discussed topical trends in development of terrorist and extremist activity in the territory of the CIS member-states, techniques of young people recruitment by radical organizations as well as organization of terrorism and extremism prevention among young people as well as the role of educational institutions and civil society institutions in those efforts.
The press-conference offered an opportunity to present a publication “Prevention of Terrorism and Extremism among Young People” prepared by the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center and Russian Peace Foundation in 2018.
The publication is intended for the officers of the law-enforcement and other governmental authorities involved in prevention of youth crimes as well as teachers and tutors of the educational institutions, leaders of youth public associations and paramilitary sport clubs, other persons in charge of morale building activities among young people.
