A meeting of representatives of the CIS ATC and the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team of the UN Security Council Committees established pursuant to UN Security Council resolutions 1267/1989/2253 on ISIS, Al-Qaeda and pursuant to UN Security Council resolution 1988 on the Taliban movement was held in Moscow on May 21, 2025.
During their meeting the parties exchanged views on the challenges and threats posed by the activities of international terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, Syria and West Africa.
Special attention was paid to the transforming nature of the terrorist propaganda content and the information and communication technologies used by the terrorist organizations.
The meeting took place ahead of preparation of the MT’s thirty-sixth report pursuant to UN Security Council resolution 2734 (2024) on ISIL, Al-Qaida and associated individuals and entities.
